Is ADD-care® a drug?
No, ADD-care® is not a drug. It is an all natural nutritional supplement. Each ADD-care® product contains the same amount of the proprietary homeopathic blend, and depending on the individual product, additional herbs or amino acids.
Is ADD-care® safe?
Yes, because ADD-care® is all natural it is very safe.
Are there any side effects with ADD-care®?
Every substance, even some foods, can have side effects for some people. However, ADD-care® products have very few side effects. Most people who take ADD-care® have no side effects at all. The first dose of a Homeopathic substance can cause a person to feel tired, also called a healing crisis, within the first couple of hours. It is important to try only one capsule or a half a dropper full of liquid and refrain from driving a car or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Most people who have that initial reaction will have it disappear in 30 minutes to one day and never have that reaction again.
A small group of people are sensitive to GABA and remain feeling sedated. If this happens either reduce the dose or switch to a "pure" version. Another small group may be sensitive to L-tyrosine. They either get anxious or irritable. Again either reduce the dosage or try a "pure" version if this occurs.
A small group either notice headaches or nausea. In this case, taking the dose with food and water is recommended.. There is no appetite or sleep disturbance with ADD-care®.
Is ADD-care® a treatment or "cure" for a medical condition?
The FDA has mandated that no natural supplement can claim to treat any medical condition and therefore ADD-care® makes no claim to treat any medical condition. However, many supplements are very effective. Vitamin C actually has been shown to cure scurvy, but vitamin C manufacturers are not allowed by the FDA to say so. There is no known "cure" for ADD, depression, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive disorder and that includes any traditional treatment such as stimulants or antidepressants.
What are the components of ADD-care®?
All ADD-care® products have the same amount of the proprietary homeopathic blend. The original version also includes the amino acids GABA and L-tyrosine. The other products add other herbs or amino acids to help with the targeted symptoms that are stated in the product descriptions.
Is ADD-care® FDA approved?
No, it is not, but it is not necessary to obtain FDA approval for nutritional products. All the ingredients in ADD-care® products are all high quality natural components and we strictly follow FDA guidelines of production.
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a very small amount of an herb or plant mixed with distilled water and shaken numerous times. Then the entire contents is emptied and then filled again with distilled water which is shaken numerous times and emptied. This process is repeated many times so that all that remains is the "energetic memory" of the substance in water.
What is a SPECT scan?
SPECT is single photon emission tomography. SPECT is a highly effective nuclear medicine brain imagery test that measures blood flow and electricity in the brain. It is a very reliable way to identify mental health and other brain conditions. Dr. Amen is the leader in the world for this type of imaging test.
What is the Conner's ADD impulsivity test?
This is the standard objective performance test for ADD. People are instructed to hit the space bar on the computer when any letter other than X pops up on the screen. People with ADD often impulsively hit the spacebar for X as well. The larger the score, the worse the performance.
How often and how long should I take ADD-care®?
Dosage and timing is very individual both for the person and the type of ADD-care® product. Each product has detailed instructions from a clearly identified link next to the product. Most of the products are taken twice a day and sometimes 3 times a day.
Most of the symptoms that ADD-care® products target are life-time symptoms and therefore the supplement needs to be taken life-long for optimum results. ADD-calm and MOOD-care are often only needed for a short amount of time until the symptoms lessen, which may take a few weeks or months.
What are neurotransmitters?
A neurotransmitter is a natural substance in the body that sends information, both emotion and thought, from one neuron to another in the human body via the central nervous system. The main neurotransmitters are Dopamine, Norepenephrine, and Acetylcholine which are all stimulating neurotransmitters which help with memory, attention, and focus. GABA helps the cells fire more slowly which helps lessen anxiety and irritability. Serotonin is another inhibitory neurotransmitter that helps a person to calm down, sleep, and/or feel less depressed.
What is a stimulant?
Stimulants, such as Vyvanse, Adderall, or Concerta, are amphetamines that stimulate the central nervous system and help with focus and attention. Stimulants are the traditional medical treatment for ADD. They are generally effective, but can have side effects such as appetite and sleep disturbances, anxiety, a tendency to stunt growth, irritability, and possible drug dependency.
What is an amino acid?
An amino acid is a natural precursor to a neurotransmitter. An amino acid is a molecule containing both amine and carboxyl functional groups.
What is the proprietary homeopathic blend in ADD-care®?
The proprietary homeopathic blend consists of all natural homeopathy that has been used individually for hundreds of years for several different conditions. They are very safe and effective. The proprietary homeopathic blend is Humulus Lupulus 30c HUSP, Baryta Carbonica 30c HUSP, Aesculus Hippocastanum 30c HUSP, Oenarthe Crocata 30c HUSP, Aconite Napellus 6x HUSP, Gelsemium Sempervirens 6x HUSP, Aconite Camichaelli 6x HUSP.
Does ADD-care® work for everyone?
Most people who take ADD-care® supplements report feeling relaxed, alert, and focused which is amazing for an all natural supplement. However, everyone is different and at times other general supplements and/or medications might be appropriate for an individual.
Do I still take my stimulant when using ADD-care®?
Around 15% of the people report that feel more relaxed on ADD-care® and feel more alert and focused, but still feel more alertness on a stimulant. Those people often take the stimulant once a day and ADD-care® for their second dose or two doses of the stimulant and use ADD-care® for their evening dose since a stimulant can't be taken after 4PM and usually stops working in the evening.
There are also those who use their stimulant medication and one ADD-care®, since it adds focus and often lessens the side effects often found with the stimulants. However, some people feel over focused when ADD-care® is used in conjunction with a stimulant.
What research has been done on ADD-care®?
Research was first done with clients who had been stabilized on traditional ADD stimulant medicine and overseen by several doctors. Then it was studied in head to head research with a popular stimulant medication at the prestigious Amen Clinic.
Who discovered ADD-care®?
Jef Gazley, LMFT ideveloped the ADD-care® product line. Jef is a psychotherapist with 40 years experience and specializes in ADD. The product was first used with his clients, all of whom were first stabilized on traditional medications before ADD-care® was substituted.
A naturopath, a chiropractor, a D.O., and a psychiatrist oversaw the two year observation period. Then ADD-care® was studied at the Amen Clinic before it was released for the general public.
